Oak Creek Canyon just north of Sedona, AZ is a special place for me. I remember going there with friends to cool off on hot summer days. Later, I came to enjoy the unique landscape for it’s clear reflective waters and the lush vegetation in this amazing red rock country. Last summer, we camped a couple days at the Cave Springs Campground. The afternoon light was spectacular, as the rock cliffs reflected gold in the swirling waters. I was especially inspired by the simplicity of boulders, pools, and reflections. Here are a few more from this series of Oak Creek oil paintings painted with a palette knife!
