New oil Painting: “Monsoon from Point Imperial”

18×24″ palette knife oil painting, “Monsoon from Point Imperial.” I completed this a couple weeks ago. I was craving rain on the day I painted it and decided to paint a rainy, moody painting since the monsoon rains had pittered out. Enjoy!

This is a 20×30″ acrylic of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado at Maroon Bells National Park. My medium of choice for the past few years was oil, but I was intrigued to use acrylic again after Golden Acrylics came out with their “Open” acrylics. Trip to the Northwest

We spent our quick week picking berries, hiking in the woods near my in-laws place, a day trip to the beach, and a day trip to Mt. Rainier. The week flew by as we enjoyed visiting with family and …

Two New Paintings!

Here are two new palette knife oil paintings, both 8×10 inches. “Eve at Lynx Lake” and “At Maroon Bells National Park.”

The North Rim – Day 2, Part 2

I wondered if the sun would peek through the clouds behind us for a magical light show. It sure did and a rainbow appeared, creating a dazzling display of color.
